Here's exactly what Trump wrote in his letter to Vucic: These are ALL the details

US President Donald Trump has published a letter addressed to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
In it, Trump clearly states that starting August 1, "any and all Serbian products" sent to the US will be charged with a tariff of "only 35 percent, separate from all sectoral tariffs" - unless Belgrade agrees to a trade agreement, on US terms.
In the letter posted on Trump's social network TruthSocial, he leaves room for changing this policy, stating that the tariffs can be increased or decreased, depending on the relationship between the two countries, and that Serbia "will never be disappointed with the United States."
"If you wish to open your heretofore closed trading markets to the Unites States, and eliminate your tariff, and non tariff policies and barriers, we will, perhaps, consider an adjustment to the letter," Trump wrote, and added:
"The 35 percent number is far less than what is needed to eliminate the trade deficit disparity we have with your country."
He also offers an alternative: move production to US soil.
"There will be no tariff if Serbia, or companies within your country, decide to build or manufacture products within the US."
In fact, Trump continued, "we will do everything possible to get approvals quickly, professionally and routinely - in other words, in a matter of weeks."
The letter also contains a warning: goods transshipped to evade a higher tariff "will be subject to that higher tariff."
Serbia is not the only country on Trump's list - similar letters have been addressed to the leaders of Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Tunisia and other countries, with tariffs ranging from 25 to 40 percent.
And these countries have been told clearly - do not respond reciprocally, because the US will add "whatever number you choose to raise (your tariffs)" to the ones announced in the letters.
Back in April, Trump said there will be a base rate of 10 percent for most states, but now he has gone a step further.
The new deadline for implementing the tariffs is August 1 - and until then, he says, everything is open for negotiation.
