Vucevic: "Detention of Popovic - another disgraceful and illegal decision by Kurti's regime

Placing the assistant director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia, Igor Popovic, in 30-day detention is the latest in a series of disgraceful, scandalous and illegal decisions by the regime of Albin Kurti, Milos Vucevic has said.
According to the SNS leader and presidential adviser, Kurti undoubtedly wants to provoke conflicts and continue his showdown with the Serbs.
"In the eyes of Kurti's regime Igor Popovic is guilty only of standing up for the innocent Serb victims in Kosovo and Metohija, because of the crimes for which no one was ever held accountable, and the obvious goal of the so-called Pristina authorities is to forget about them," Vucevic stated on his Instagram account.
He added that Kurti's goal all these years has been to try to suppress the truth, to silence or imprison everyone who speaks about it, so that the truth about the criminal KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army") and about the 47 Serbs and Romani murdered and more than a hundred kidnapped during July 1998, is not heard.
These are wounds on the soul of our people that will never heal, there is no statute of limitation for these crimes, and they are crimes for which we will seek punishment as long as we exist, Vucevic added.
"We will not allow Kurti's regime to kill the truth, to persecute, intimidate and expel our people from their centuries-old homes, and we will never give up the fight for the rights of our people and the fight to preserve peace and stability. We demand that the international community urgently reviews the illegal and scandalous decision made by Kurti's judges, and for Igor Popovic to be released," Vucevic said.
On Sunday, the Basic Court of the provisional institution in Pristina ordered the detention of Igor Popovic, who was arrested on Friday at the Brnjak administrative crossing.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced earlier that on the order of Albin Kurti, Assistant Director of the Office Igor Popovic, who is in charge of legal issues, was detained in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
He previously attended a commemoration on the anniversary of the murders and kidnappings of Serbs of the Orahovac region perpetrated by the criminal KLA.
Popovic was detained for making a statement after the memorial service - simply because he called those who killed 47 innocent Serbs and Romani and kidnapped more than a hundred during July 1998 by their right name.
