President Vucic to receive credentials from new EU ambassador in Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath

On Friday, August 1, President of Aleksandar Vucic will receive the credentials from the new ambassador of the European Union in Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath.
This was announced by the presidential press service, and the statement added that the meeting will start at noon in the Palace of Serbia.
During his career, the Swedish diplomat held several position in the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also in the country's diplomatic missions abroad - he was the rapporteur for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a political adviser at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin, the deputy ambassador of Sweden in London, and the ambassador in Kiev (until 2016).
After that, Beckerath was the head of the Department for Conflicts and Humanitarian Affairs at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the same ministry, while he became the Swedish ambassador to Poland in late 2023.
Beckerath is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
