Disgrace! Football club from RS drops best player because he's diagnosed with cancer, quickly deletes post

A sad story is coming from the Serb Republic (RS) that has angered the public... Namely, Laktasi football club decided to sack their best footballer Dejan Bosancic because he was diagnosed with cancer.

To make matters worse, the club announced the decision publicly and directly, without any shame. Eventually, the post was deleted from social media, but traces remain on the internet.

The announcement, that got removed, read as follows:

"Dejan Bosancic will not wear the club's jersey in the new season. Our midfielder was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the end of the season, which is why his contract was not extended, since it is not known when he might return to the pitch. He arrived in Laktasi from Borac in 2022 and played 74 games for our team, scoring 5 goals and 30 assists.

- He carried Laktasi through the First League all the way to the championship title, something into which he built in his knowledge, energy and health. We thank Dejan for everything he has given to this club and we wish him a speedy recovery. Dejo, we are all with you."

Dejan Bosancic saved a screenshot of the post and then published it on his Instagram account.

"This cannot be deleted," was a comment he made on the Instagram story, and the public quickly sided with him.

Perhaps the very fate of the club is ultimately a reflection of their treatment of the players. Laktasi did become RS champions, but could not be promoted to the higher tier due to financial problems.
