Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that Serbia does not interfere in concrete tactical or any other actions taken by the leadership of the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina) - or with political forces in the RS.

"Our job is to point out to the law, any disrespect of the right, respect and lack of respect of the Dayton (peace) Agreement. In this way and in this matter, the RS can always count on Serbia's support," the president said.

This was his reply to a journalist asking whether Serbia supports the announcement made by RS President Milorad Dodik that a referendum will be held, after he was stripped of his mandate.

Vucic pointed out that Serbia's position will not to change, that Serbia understands the complexity of the situation and the countless problems that are present now, but that he hopes things will be resolved peacefully and that regional stability will be fully preserved.

"I would like for some people in the international community to better understand the need for conversation and dialogue, rather than make rush decisions - I didn't expect any better from those in Sarajevo. So that will be Serbia's goal in the coming period," said Vucic.
