Vucic: Meeting between Trump and Putin is important, we are all rooting for peace

President Aleksandar Vucic commented on the announced meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, assessing that it is very important and that everyone is rooting for peace in Ukraine.

"I'm not sure that it will bring an end to the conflict, but I am sure that it is very important. I wish them luck, we are all rooting for peace in Ukraine. I have no sarcastic comments on that issue. I could remember when the Americans tried to prevent us from talking to the Russians and whenever the Russians had sarcastic comments about our meetings with the Americans, but that speaks well of the policy we pursued, and I wish them a good meeting and results, and to make us all happy by bringing peace," said Vucic.

The president added that it would mean a lot for our own, and other economies.

"And then we will have to let all the others who were saying the worst about the other side get in line in front of us, we won't elbow our way in, but protect the position of our Serbia," said Vucic.
