Minister of Foreign Affairs and high-ranking ruling SNS party official Marko Djuric today referred to the most recent events in the country by making the following statement:

"I condemn a new wave of senseless verbal and, unfortunately, physical violence perpetrated by a part of the opposition. The imagery of rioting has already become the source of malicious propaganda against our country.

At the same time,  (I express) strong support for the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the Government and all those social actors who advocate to preserve stability and respect institutional order.

Serbia needs peace, stability, tolerance and unity. Serbia does not need images of politically motivated violence and new tensions.

It is necessary to gather around the idea that the future of Serbia can only be built with a willingness to compromise and respect basic democratic rules.

A country that will meet our needs and ambitions can only be built with love, patience and knowledge. There are no shortcuts. Anyone who promises shortcuts, is not telling the truth."
