Serbian Assembly President Ana Brnabic: We will save the country

Serbian Assembly President Ana Brnabic said today that the protesters have shown in recent days that their goal is to take over power by force and bring Serbia to a complete halt, and pointed out that the state will fight to protect Serbia and its constitutional order from the worst outcome.
Brnabic said that the protesters over the past few days demonstrated perfectly what a "blockaders' Serbia" would look like, where there would be no place not only for members and supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), but for anyone who thinks differently.
"It would be a fascist dictatorship in which those who do not agree with the 'blockaders' would not have the right to work, to move, to exist or to act politically," Brnabic told TV Pink.
She added that yesterday's press conference held by Serbian President Aleksandar Vicoc was important, as he fulfilled his presidential obligation and informed all citizens that the goals of the protesters are a violent change of power and social and political destabilization, and what can be expected next.
"The cards are on the table, and in any case, we will continue to fight to save Serbia, to save it from the worst and to save its constitutional order, that's what is important," stressed Ana Brnabic.
She said that last night's gathering of blockaders in Nis failed because the citizens do not want to participate in that kind of violence and do not want to foster fascist, Nazi and Ustasha ideology where the answer to everything is hatred, rather than a plan to do something better or differently.
"They don't have it. They have come to the point that the next thing they will do is kill someone. They did everything else - they banned freedom of movement, they destroyed our educational system, which will take years to recover, and when you destroy its educational system, you effectively destroyed a country," Brnabic said.
