Ana Brnabic: There will be no repeat of "Maidan" in Serbia

President of the National AssemblyAna Brnabic addressed citizens of Serbia this morning.
"I felt the need to address you from the House of the Assembly and point out some worrying trends," Brnabic opened.
"We had the opportunity to see the non-payer that (Dusan) Janjic has sent to foreigners as a proposal to, as they say, (solve) the crisis in Serbia... Therefore after yesterday it is completely clear that what we have been witnessing in the last nine months in Serbia is a textbook example of a color revolution, a violent change of government," said Brnabic.
She said that this is a deliberate manufacturing of a crisis, for the sake of then overthrowing the authorities and the constitutional order.
"We saw in the Croatian media that they are anticipating a 'Maidan' in Serbia. They are equalizing Kiev in 2014 and Belgrade today," said Brnabic.
The National Assembly president added those who want a crisis have completed the first phase.
"They have completed the first phase and are continuing, and we saw that even last night, when after the burning of the SNS premises in Palilula (Belgrade) - and everyone heard President Vucic calling for dialogue - they said that Aleksandar Vucic had called for violence," said Brnabic.
"This has the goal of artificially creating hatred and divisions in our society," she remarked.
"We have been witnessing this on the streets of all our cities for several months, but absolutely dominantly during the last week. The second phase is terror and violence, to create an impression of chaos and complete destabilization," said Brnabic.
She noted that the ground is being prepared for the third phase of the color revolution.
"And that is a solution, in order to restore peace and stability. And for peace and stability to be restored in a country where there is chaos, intervention of a foreign factor is needed. That is, the occupation of the country and removing all its sovereignty," said Brnabic.
The non-paper, she continued, contains a proposal for a solution that implies putting under full (outside) control and supervision the president of Serbia, and the National Assembly.
"Imagine putting under full control a legitimate president who has the support of the people, that foreigners would control what he does. For them, that is the solution to end the crisis. Putting under supervision and control the Assembly, this House, all deputies. Well, what else is that, if not stripping our citizens of all sovereignty!?," asked Brnabic.
She added that the non-paper further asks to bring under full control not only the Council for National Security, but all security and intelligence services.
"Well, that's their proposal! The point that speaks of the need to take over the supervision of the state data center in Kragujevac is particularly worrying. The personal data of all our citizens is stored there, it is the heart of our state administration. We created it so that the data of our citizens would be completely safe, so that the data center would enjoy certified, highest level of control and security," said the president of the Assembly.
"Our message to foreigners is, don't even think about discussing this and other non-papers any furter. There will be no repeat of 'Maidan' in Serbia. We will fight using all means, through our institutions, we will fight through this National Assembly and we will offer resistance in every place. In a democratic manner, out of love for this Serbia of ours," said Brnabic.
She added that there will be no civil war even though many would like to see that happen.
"We will fight by protecting our institutions and our country," Brnabic concluded.
