The constitutive session of the provisional instutions' Pristina Assembly will resume on Wednesday at 11:00, with two items on the agenda - election of the president and vice president of the Assembly.

The Constitutional Court in Pristina announced yesterday its ruling regarding the attempts to constitute the Assembly, which states that the deputies must elect the said officials, in a public vote, within 30 days, and that the same candidates can only be put up for election three times.

All deputies have been ordered to participate in the constituent session, and to vote.

The court's decision establishes that the deputies did not implement a previous ruling, issued on June 26, by which they had been ordered them to complete the process within 30 days, but all sessions held from June 27 to July 26 were declared invalid.

The constitutive session of the Pristina Assembly started on April 15, and by July 26, it was resumed and suspended 54 times.

Self-Determination's candidate for Assembly president Albulena Haxhiu never received the required number of votes, with the party then attempting to change the tactics starting in early May, demanding that the vote be secret - which the majority kept rejecting.

Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo and Metohija on February 9, 2025.

Self-Determination won 48 Assembly seats, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, the Democratic League of Kosovo 20, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Nisma initiative eight each, the Serb List nine, the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival one, while the remaining 10 mandates went to other non-majority communities.
