New gatherings of citizens on Saturday to be held in over 130 places, around 150,000 people expected

A number of large gathering of citizens will be held under the slogan "Stop to Blockades" on Saturday, September 13, starting at 18:00.

These rallies are expected to be attended by a total of more than 150,000 people all over Serbia.

Organizers, the Center for Social Stability, point out that the gatherings will be held simultaneously in between 130 to 140 places across the country, while the key goal is to send a clear message against violence, chaos and political obstruction.

The Center for Social Stability called on citizens to take to the streets en masse and break the previous record for the number of participants, stressing that it is time to show unity and determination, Politika reports.

"We wish that all those who want a normal, stable and safe Serbia gather on Saturday, those who want a country of order and development, not of chaos and conflict," announced the organizers.

Previous gatherings attracted a lot of attention from the domestic and foreign public, while those on Saturday, it is estimated, could become one of the most massive in recent years.

The organizers stress that peaceful, dignified and massive participation is expected from citizens, with the message that blockades and destruction are not the way toward the future of Serbia.

Rallies against blockades were held last week in 111 municipalities and cities across Serbia, gathering more than 126,000 people.

Similar rallies were also held on August 31, when more than 103,000 citizens gathered in almost 100 places, on August 20 they attracted 33,000 people in 47 places, as well as on August 23, when about 70,000 people gathered in rallies in 71 municipalities and cities.

The organizer of the gatherings against the blockades is the Center for Social Stability. The rallies were all registered with the police and went without incidents..
