Vucic to present medals after "Strength of Unity" military parade
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will tomorrow attend the military parade "Strenght of Unity" organized to mark Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, and will present decorations on the occasion of the holiday.
The ceremony will be held at 15:00 in front of the Palace of Serbia, the presidential press service announced.
Vucic stated earlier today that the military parade, which will start at 11:00, is not being organized for the sake of daily politics, but to show our strength as a deterrent to any potential aggressor, in order to preserve the peace.
He said that nobody in the world can overrun Serbia today and invited the citizens to attend the parade and see the huge changes and the huge difference achieved in the country's armed force, which has been worked on for 13 years.
Vucic told Blic TV that the parade is the pride of Serbia and a demonstration of our strength as a deterrent to any potential aggressor.
"We don't want to attack anyone. We want peace and we just want to preserve our peace, and we can't preserve our peace by being weak," Vucic pointed out.
He said that stability, security and peace cannot be preserved by weakness, but by strength, and that is why the name of the parade consists of two words - strength and unity.
"For us, it's a way to survive. They would trample on us if we didn't have such a strong army. They would come up with some reason. They would play with false flags. They would overrun us. Today, nobody in the world can do that to Serbia. And that's why we're going to show the citizens that they can sleep peacefully, that this is a stable country," said Vucic.
