Zajecar City Assembly gets new president, as opposition continues causing incidents

Stefan Zankov from the "We will not give Serbia-Aleksandar Vucic" election list was elected today as president of the Zajecar City Assembly, during the local authorities' constitutive session that the opposition has been disrupting since this morning by causing incidents.
After he was elected, Zankov took over the chairmanship of the session, while opposition councilors continued to obstruct it by throwing bottles and crumpled papers at Zankov, as well as hurling insults at him.
There was once again a physical confrontation with the security in the hall, and previously this happened when the opposition tried to prevent the vote to elect the president of the Assembly, Tanjug reported.
During the session, a couple of benches in the hall were broken when opposition councilors jostled with security, that was forced to respond.
Pyrotechnic devices, a smoke grenade and pepper spray were previously thrown in the hall, which forced everyone to leave.
According to the media, pepper spray was used by opposition councilor Ugljesa Djurickovic, while the smoke grenade was activated by Miroslav Marinkovic.
As the constitutive session continues in Zajecar, the mayor and the city council are next to be elected.
