Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that despite US sanctions imposed against the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), the supply of oil and derivatives in the country is not jeopardized.

"The refinery can operate without oil inflow until November 1. Our reserves are full. We have 342,000 tons of diesel, over 66,000 tons of gasoline, and EPS has enough energy products for one year. That is of great importance," said Vucic.

He added that the storage units have been renovated and that sufficient amounts of fuel oil have been provided for the heating season.

"Some places have enough in the heating plants, some don't, but we will provide enough mazut. The problem is that some cities, such as Belgrade and Novi Sad, were not paying their bills. There will be no problems at the gas stations until the New Year. We have  sufficient reserves," said Vucic.
