President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today reacted to the news that Hamas has released Alon Ohel (who has dual Israeli-Serbian citizenship).

In a post on X, Vucic stated that Ohel, after spending 738 days in captivity, "fought through darkness and won".

"Alon Ohel, you fought through 738 days of darkness and won. Welcome home, dear friend - your strength inspires us all," wrote Vucic.

The president also had a message for his parents.

"Idit and Kobi, wrap your arms around your son. The nightmare is over," he wrote.

Vucic expressed his gratitude to US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Serbia stands grateful to Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff and Benjamin Netanyahu - leaders who deliver freedom when it counts. Stability is the only path forward," he concluded.
