Special police arrest suspects in murder of Montenegrin Filip Ivanovic, a fugitive gunned down in Belgrade

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, in a quick and efficient operation shed light in the case of the murder that happened late last night in Belgrade and arrested DJ.Z. (21) on suspicion that he killed a man believed to be Filip Ivanovic.
It is suspected that he shot and killed a man whose identity is being determined late last night in Belgrade Waterfront, the MUP announced.
Personal documents suspected to be forged were found on the body of the victim. During the arrest of DJ.Z. the police found two pistols with a bullet in the barrel and an identity card also suspected to be a forgery.

The police officers brought in another person today in connection with the same case. The police continue further work to establish all the facts and circumstances related to this event.

Who was Filip Ivanovic?
An international arrest warrant had been issued for Filip Ivanovic (33), a native of Cetinje, Montenegro, who was under house arrest in Belgrade but escaped on December 4, 2024, after forcibly removing a tracking device he was ordered to wear.
In Serbia, Ivanovic was on trial for helping Lazar Tejic the murder Bojan Mirkovic in the Belville neighborhood of Belgrade, while Montenegrin authorities sought him on suspicion that he created a criminal organization, and was a co-perpetrator in murders and aggravated murders.
