KFOR aircraft above northern part of Kosovo and Metohija: Here's what that's about
US, Latvian, Polish, Turkish and German soldiers from the Regional Command-East maneuver battalion conducted an air insertion missions over northern Kosovo and Metohija, KFOR has announced.
In a post on Facebook, KFOR said that this was "carried out both during the day and at night with aviation units, these activities allow patrols to reach key areas along the administrative boundary line while strengthening interoperability, coordination, and operational readiness" of the military mission in this part of Kosovo and Metohija.
"Such activities are essential for maintaining unit cohesion and readiness, while ensuring KFOR’s continued effectiveness in supporting a safe and secure environment for all people across Kosovo," the post said.
KFOR added that it "continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially."
