Vucic and Nabaeva discuss parliamentary cooperation, strengthening of relations between Serbia and Uzbekistan
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke today in Tashkent with the chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, about strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and deepening overall relations between Serbia and Uzbekistan.
In a post on Instagram after the meeting with Nabaeva, Vucic stated that they also discussed an exchange of experiences in the area of legislation and greater participation of institutions in regional initiatives.
"We paid special attention to deepening the overall relations between Serbia and Uzbekistan, from economy and investments, agriculture, energy and digitization, to culture, education and connections between young people, with the aim of encouraging concrete projects," Vucic stressed.
He added that he believes today's talks will contribute to the two countries moving closer together, to better cooperation between the parliaments and new incentives for development of a comprehensive partnership.
"I am grateful for the warm welcome and the friendship that we confirmed today," stated Vucic.
During the second day of his visit to Uzbekistan, President Vucic will participate in the Serbia-Uzbekistan business forum, attended by representatives of large companies interested in investing in Serbia.
Vucic will also visit the Center for Islamic Civilization, ans the IT and Techno Park industrial complex.
During the first day of his visit to Uzbekistan, Vucic met with his counterpart President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with whom he signed a joint declaration.
