31-year-old Turkish citizen A.O.C. is suspected of inflicting serious bodily injuries on his compatriot E.S. The incident happened in a well-known hotel in Surcin, a Belgrade municipality.

A.O.C. is suspected of beating E.S. on the head and body, using a chair, until the victim passed out.

Doctors at KBC Zemun clinic established that E.S. has a fractured frontal bone, the roof of the skull, and the floor of the eye socket.

The incident happened on November 18 at around 01:10 in the morning, in the Surcin hotel. According to witnesses, A.O.C. was striking E.S. on the head with a wooden chair.

Suspect denies crime, custody requested

During the hearing at the prosecution, A.O.C. denied committing the crime of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

However, taking into account the circumstances that indicate the suspect is a flight risk, as well as the possibility that him remaining free might affect the victim and the witnesses, the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade submitted a proposal to the Third Basic Court to keep him in custody.
