President of the Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic said that today she will schedule the start of the third session of the regular sitting for Tuesday, November 25, where the budget proposal for 2026 will be considered, as well as other legal proposals that are of exceptional importance for the citizens.

Brnabic told a press conference held at the Assembly in Belgrade that in addition to the budget, the agenda will include proposals for laws on textbooks, a set of energy laws, as well as election of Serbia's equality commissioner.

"The draft budget law is always the most important legal act for a country and for all its citizens, because it ensures further improvement of the standard of living of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia in 2026, further growth of wages and pensions, funds for further economic growth, new roads, new railways, new health facilities, investing in encouraging higher birth rates," said Brnabic.

She added that by the end of 2026, Serbia needs to finish everything it has started in order to be ready to welcome "literally the whole world in 2027, for EXPO."

Brnabic said that Serbia won the right to host that event in competition with Spain, the US, Argentina, and Thailand.

"So, in 2027, which is just around the corner, we need to welcome the whole world in our country. We have, so far, a record number of countries that have confirmed their participation in EXPO - 127. Regardless of the fact that some people here say that is the biggest corruption project, and that the on-duty bashers of their country are calling for others not to participate in EXPO - 127 countries have confirmed their participation," Brnabic stressed.
