Minister of Culture of Serbia Nikola Selakovic has said that the arrest of the leader of the Serb people in Montenegro, and the leader of the Democratic People's Party, Milan Knezevic, represents a gross violation of the will of the people.

According to Selakovic, this is a case of violence perpetrated against a man who fights for the rights of his people without any compromise.

"I express my full support to my dear brother, friend and comrade, expecting that justice will be served as soon as possible by him getting released, and by Serbs in Montenegro finally becoming equal to other citizens," said Selakovic.

On Tuesday, the Montenegrin police arrested the leader of the Democratic People's Party of Montenegro and deputy in the Assembly in Podgorica Milan Knezevic, who, together with the locals in the village of Botun, protested at the site designated to build a wastewater treatment plant.
