President Vucic's message on Orthodox Christmas Eve
Serbia's majority Orthodox Christians are today marking Orthodox Christmas Eve, and President Aleksandar Vucic has published his message on this occasion.

A post on Vucic's Instagram account reads as follows:
"On Christmas Eve, at a time when the world is changing faster than we would like and when uncertainty and divisions have become commonplace in many parts of the world, it is worth remembering that which, despite everything, keeps us together.
Christmas Eve (including badnjak ritual) is not just about customs, it is a symbol of home, roots and warmth that is safeguarded and passed on. It teaches us patience, calmness and faith that even the most difficult times will pass when people maintain their humanity, when they reach out to each other and when understanding is stronger than any differences.
May this holiday bring peace to our hearts, harmony to the community and more responsibility attached to words and deeds. May it remind us that the strength of a country is measured by its economy and power, as well as its ability to preserve dignity, unity and hope during difficult times.
I wish a happy Christmas Eve to all citizens of Orthodox faith, that they spend it in health, warmth and tranquility of their families, with faith that, relying on what is best in us, we will succeed in building a safer and more just future."
