President of Albania Bajram Begaj met with President of Moldova Maia Sandu, to state that Albania supports Moldova's path toward membership in the European Union - and called on that country to reconsider recognizing so-called Kosovo as independent.

"Together, as partners and friends, we are working for a stronger and more secure Europe, and we also encourage the reconsideration of the recognition of Kosovo," Begaj stated in a post on X.

Begaj also pointed out that Albania "fully supports Moldova's European path" and that EU enlargement is a key factor for stability and peace in today's "challenging security environment".

He noted that they had "productive talks mutual trust" and that "sustained political dialogue, and constructive cooperation, serving our shared interests and our citizens, are the foundation of the relationship between our two countries."
