Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke today from Davos, where the 56th meeting of the World Economic Forum has been officially opened.

"Today we already had important talks with economic leaders," Vucic said, and added that a meeting with a large American company will follow.

"You know that we promised flying taxis, we are slowly bringing those things to completion," he hinted.

He also commented on Ursula von der Leyen's speech.

"It is clear from her speech that the so-called political divorce between the US and the EU is permanent. She reiterated twice her desire to establish full political and economic independence of the European Union," Vucic stressed.

Von der Leyen also said, he added, that US sanctions are a big mistake and that a united EU response would follow. Vucic pointed out that he also expects a strong response from Trump tomorrow.

"There are many problems, the world is going in a crazy direction. We have to preserve peace and a rapidly growing economy. We have started work on the economic plan of Serbia until 2035," the president said in Davos.

"All this is not going in a good direction for the whole world. We cannot pretend that we are outside the world. It remains for us to see what to do and how. What I see is that Europe will go strong, but I don't believe that they will defend Greenland militarily," he said.

"This place is a madhouse because of Trump, this morning we traveled for an hour and a half to cross 15 kilometers, tomorrow me must leave at 5 because I want to hear his speech and see his people...," Vucic added.

Today, Vucic is participating in the session, "Shaping Economic Identity of Eurasia," and will also speak at a round table that brings together global economic leaders who will discuss the topic, "New European Geopolitical Strategy."

During his stay in Davos, Vucic will have numerous bilateral meetings with European and other officials, as well as with representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, and leading companies.
