Aleksandar Vulin responds to Sarajevo: Why did Dodik's visit to Israel cause protest note and uproar
RS (Serb Republic, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH) Senator Aleksandar Vulin has reacted to a protest note sent by the BiH minister of foreign affairs. Elmedin Konakovic, to the ambassador of Israel, regarding the visit of Milorad Dodik and the RS delegation to Israel.
"Jews and Serbs share a history of suffering, that's why their representatives have an obligation to strengthen the ties between the two nations who have suffered the most, not only in the Second World War era. Sarajevo had to attack the visit of President Dodik and the RS delegation, just as (that visit) has to be supported by everyone who cares about the RS and the Serbs," Vulin stated, adding:
"The words that a Serb delegation represents fascist values in Israel can only be uttered by someone who is afraid that the world will remember the mufti of Jerusalem forming the (Nazi) SS Handschar Division in Sarajevo (during WW2), in the ranks of which there was no place for the compatriots of Dodik - but it did include the compatriots of Konakovic."
"The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country that refused to offer hospitality to a gathering of rabbis in Sarajevo, has no place in Jerusalem anyway, but the flag of the RS does," Vulin concluded.
