Serbian Assembly President Ana Brnabic calls local elections

President of Serbian Assembly Ana Brnabic on Monday scheduled for March 29 regular local elections for councilors in the assemblies in nine local self-governments.

Brnabic signed the decision to call these elections in the central hall of the House of Serbian National Assembly in Belgrade, and then addressed the public:

"Today, in line with my powers, I made the decision to call regular local elections in nine local self-governments, for March 29, 2026," said Brnabic, recalling that the previous local elections in those places were held in 2022.

Regular local elections during 2026 must be held in Bor, the municipalities of Arandjelovac, Bajina Basta, Kladovo, Knjazevac, Kula, Lucani, Majdanpek, and Smederevska Palanka, as well as in the city of Uzice - Sevojno municipality.

Some of these electoins have already been announced, for example in Bor, Lucani, and in Bajina Basta.
