The National Association of Travel Agencies of Serbia (YUTA) has warned travelers about the large number of airports that have been shut down in the Middle East, stating that the current situation is considered force majeure, i.e., a circumstance caused by war, where carriers are not under obligation to follow standard procedures or guarantee all their services.

"Passenger safety is the priority, and flights will not resume until carriers receive guarantees that the airspace is safe for flying. This means that passengers may have the right to change their flight, change the route or get a refund according to a carrier's policy, but the flexibility and the response depend on the situation itself and security assessments," YUTA stated in a post on the organization's Instagram account.

It is stressed that for theses reasons, the recommendation is for travelers to get information exclusively from carriers or travel agencies, in order to make timely and safe decisions.

YUTA added that all flights to and from Dubai International (DXB), Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC) and Hamad International Airport (DOH) are currently suspended until further notice, following the closure of the regional airspace.

As a result, numerous international carriers, including domestic and foreign ones, have canceled or temporarily suspended flights to and from these destinations, which has led to significant disruptions in international air traffic and serious disruption of transit connections affecting travelers worldwide.

Today's flights from Belgrade to Dubai have been cancelled, while a new departure time was awaited for the flight to Doha, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Belgrade said earlier on Monday.

Travelers are advised to stay in touch with travel agencies and carriers for the latest information about the status of their flights and travel conditions.
