Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic was taken off the vetilator on Monday, Telegraf learned last evening.

Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar said earlier in the day that the condition of Ivica Dacic had improved, that there was reason for optimism, but also that intensive treatment and therapy were continuing.

"His current condition is improved, which gives us reason for optimism. What is important is that there's still a lot of work ahead, intensive treatment and application of intensive therapy continue. That is what I will say at this time, while the people who are treating him will explain in more detail during the day," Loncar told reporters after visiting the Kumodraz-1 Healthcare Center, which is a branch of the Vozdovac Healthcare Center.

On Wednesday evening, Ivica Dacic was hospitalized at the Pulmonology Clinic of the Clinical Center of Serbia due to severe pneumonia.
