Minister Djedovic Handanovic speaks from Paris: Serbia wants to be part of Europe's "nuclear renaissance"
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic is in Paris for the Nuclear Energy Summit, where she announced that Serbia is ready to move towards developing its civilian nuclear program.
This strategic move, she emphasized, is the foundation for providing stable energy supply, which is necessary for further strong growth of the economy.
The minister stressed the importance of the vision that the Serbian delegation took to Paris today.
"The Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris has started! I will present our vision and plans to develop a civilian nuclear program that will provide stable energy supply that we need for stable development of our economy," she stated.
Djedovic Handanovic particularly pointed out the fact that Europe is largely turning to safer and longer-term sources of energy, and that our country plans to actively participate in those changes.
"Europe is entering the 'nuclear renaissance' era, and Serbia wants to be a part of that through partnerships, new technologies, sustainable and stable development," said the minister.
