The founder and president of Comtrade Group Veselin Jevrosimovic has warned about major AI scamin a post on his LinkedIn account.

Jevrosimovic said this is a sophisticated type fraud based on deepfake technology. He additionally warned that trust and familiar persons are abused in this way, in order to obtain data.

"WARNING TO EVERYONE 🚨🚨🚨

A major AI scam is making the rounds on the internet.

You receive a message on your phone from a friend or business partner who wants to talk to you. Usually, the other party invites you to a video call that is of poor quality or without sound, but clearly displaying the video of your acquaintance's image.

During the call, you are told that the connection is bad and it is suggested to switch to text.

After that, you are asked for your private data, account number or other sensitive information.

This is a sophisticated scam based on AI technology (deepfake), which uses trust and familiar faces to get your data.

Do not share any confidential information without further verifying the person's identity - call them directly or use another communication channel.

Be careful. Today, it is no longer enough to believe what you see," warned Jevrosimovic.
