36-day battle and life-changing lesson: Deputy PM Ivica Dacic makes emotional return to MUP
Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has gone back to work after more than a month of absence due to poor health.
Dacic was welcomed by his colleagues at the premises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), who prepared a surprise which he said deeply touched him.
Gradual return to duties
After a 36-day break, the minister shared his first impressions on social networks, stressing that the process of fully returning to work will be gradual and strictly supervised by medical experts.
"In the coming days, I will have to follow all the doctors' instructions and be careful. I will try not to overdo things, and from Monday I will slowly return to my duties," said Dacic.
Life lessons and willpower
In his address, Dacic referred to the personal struggle he went through, stressing that the difficult days behind him also brought a new perspective on life.
Dacic said that those days changed his outlook on life.
He stressed this experience confirmed that willpower is sometimes stronger than any obstacles.
Gratitude to colleagues
Special emphasis was placed on the collective of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, who gave the minister a warm welcome. With words of gratitude and optimism, Dacic concluded the message by saying, "We're moving on! Long live Serbia!"
Although the details of the nature of the illness have not been officially announced, it is expected that the minister will fully return to his regular official activities starting next week.
