President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke on Tuesday with the newly elected Prime Minister of Hungary Peter Magyar.

Vucic was among the first leaders who established a direct dialogue with Magyar, thus confirming the strategic partnership between Belgrade and Budapest.

"I congratulated Peter Magyar on his election victory. We had an important, good and substantive conversation about the key topics for the further improvement of overall Serbian-Hungarian relations.

We also considered some of the key energy and other issues of importance for the further development of relations between our countries, a stable development, more secure supply and stronger regional connectivity.

We exchanged opinions about the position of Serb and Hungarian minorities in our countries, as well as about Serbia's EU path. I invited Peter Magyar to visit Serbia," President Vucic wrote on Instagram.
