President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today received members of the Serbian Army who were deployed in the Force Protection Corps Sector West over the past eight months - a part of the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.

Vucic received the members of the Serbian Army at noon on Monday, in the building of the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic in Belgrade.

30 Serbian Army peacekeepers returned to the country from the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon - UNIFIL - on the night between Thursday and Friday, when they were welcomed at the Konstantin Veliki (Constantine the Great) Airport in the town of Nis by Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic.

This marked the completion of their deployment in Sector West, which is responsible for the providing around the clock security to the forces engaged in the operation, and reacting in complex security conditions.

Members of the Serbian Army were part of the 22nd rotation of the Force Protection Corps within the contingent of a total of 160 soldiers engaged in the UNIFIL operation.

The 22nd rotation was deployed in Lebanon on September 3, 2025 and carried out regular tasks in the operational zone in line with the mission mandate and standard operating procedures in the sector, that is part of the Italian contingent.

The Serbian Army is currently participating with 207 personnel in nine multinational operations under the mandate of the United Nations, the European Union, and the Multinational Force and Observers.
