US Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli is currently in the Serbian capital Belgrade, where he described relations between the two countries as "fantastic".

Zampolli told Newsmax Balkans that this relationship enjoys full support of the US administration, and that there is "an ambition to further deepen cooperation through concrete projects, from the development of hydroenergy on the Danube to investments in aviation infrastructure."

"I am in Serbia because the relationship that the United States has with you is absolutely fantastic. And I am here to show love and friendship and to improve this relationship. We are working very closely with all parts of your government, with our great embassy here, especially starting with EXPO, which we launched last week in Washington at the residence of Ambassador Dragan Sutanovac. Your finance minister was there. You have full support from the State Department", Zampolli said, according to Newsmax Balkans.

"We are expecting a very large attendance, and all visitors are welcome to come to Serbia, to the entire EXPO, but also to the American pavilion. That would be incredible. In addition to my mission for sports diplomacy and EXPO, global partnership is a very broad program", he said.

He added that there are great projects to implement in the short or longer term in the North Gate 3.

"That includes hydroenergy on the Danube, which is also connected with Romania, we are starting cooperation signings in the coming days. We have geothermal projects that we really like. We look forward to cooperating with you regarding airports and aviation infrastructure," said Zampolli.

He reiterated that relations between Serbia and the United States are fantastic.

"People in Serbia really like us. They like US President Donald Trump. That brings me great joy. I have been coming here since 2014. I introduced former Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, now Minister of Internal Affairs, to President Trump back in 2014," Zampolli told Newsmax Balkans.
