Watch Serbian police arrest suspected TikTok predator

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia (MUP) from the Department for Combating High-Tech Crime, in an operation coordinated with the Special Department for Combating High-Tech Crime of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, identified and arrested N.M. (28) from the vicinity of Belgrade, on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of displaying, obtaining and possessing pornographic material and exploiting a minor for pornography using TikTok and Viber applications.

The prosecution believes that he used the platforms to contact a 12-year-old girl and ask her to send him explicit photos and videos of herself, while at the same time sending her his own explicit content.

It is also suspected that he tried to arrange meeting the girl in person in order to engage in an intimate relationship, which the police prevented, as well as to further distribute and abuse the explicit content that he possessed.

A video published by the Serbian MUP shows armed officers arriving at the suspect's house and breaking in after he refused to open the door.

The suspect was taken out of the house, knocked to the ground, and then handcuffed. The officers then took him back to the house to get dressed, before taking him away in a police car.

N.M. will spend up to 48 hours in police custody where he will be questioned, before he is brough to the prosecutor's office, along with a criminal complaint.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) is appealing on parents and guardians to pay special attention to their children's activities online, and to report any suspicious communication to the authorities without delay.
