The ceremony of signing the design and construction documents to build the 1st category state road Vozd Karadjordje - sector 2 and sector 3 - was held on Thursday in Villa Mir in Belgrade.

The signing was attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

The agreement and contract were signed by Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic, the director of the Corridors of Serbia company, Aleksandar Antic, and the director of the Shandong Serbia branch, Xuxian Chang.

After the signing the documents, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming were scheduled to address the media.

On Wednesday, Vucic stated that the value of that project is 1.3 billion euros and pointed out that once completed, the road will connect Belgrade's southern suburbs with the northern part of Serbia's central Sumadija region.

"Finally, we will connect Mladenovac and Lazarevac (Belgrade municipalities) not only with Arandjelovac, but also completely with Belgrade, and also Mladenovac and Sopot and Lazarevac (also Belgrade municipalities) with Topola and Raca and Kragujevac, and eventually with all places in our Sumadija, Mt. Rudnik, will be incomparably better connected with Belgrade than has been the case thus far," said Vucic.

He added that this concerns almost 90 kilometers of road: from Cibutkovica, Progoreoci, through Orasac to Arandjelovac - Lazarevac, Mali Pozarevac to Mladenovac to Arandjelovac.

According to the Corridors of Serbia, the Vozd Karadjordje state road will pass through the municipalities of Sopot, Mladenovac, Lazarevac, Arandjelovac, Topola, Raca, Lapovo, Velika Plana, Svilajnac, Despotovac, and Bor.
