Jovanov: SNS will win upcoming elections, opposition won't get any seats in Serbian Assembly
The head of the SNS party group in the Serbian National Assembly, Milenko Jovanov, says that the ruling coalition gathered around the SNS will receive the citizens' support in the next elections sa well, because people know who cares for them and who is solving their problems, while according to him, the current opposition will remain out of parliament as it will not pass the electoral threshold.
During a Serbian National Assembly session discussing the changes to electoral laws based on the ODIR recommendations, Jovanov pointed out that the recommendations will be adopted, but he also expressed doubt whether they all bring about improvements to the electoral process.
"All types of checks are welcome, but neither the voter roll, nor the change in the law, brings the support of the citizens. The support of the citizens is brought about by caring for the people, and the citizens know who solves their problems, and this will be evident in the next elections," said Jovanov.
According to him, "the whole story about the voter roll is one of the excuses for the continuous defeats suffered by these people (the opposition) who will be sitting in the parliament for some time".
"These same people are going from door to door in Vienna, Berlin, Strasbourg, attacking us for not implementing ODIR's recommendations. And now that we are implementing them, they are once again unhappy," said the SNS official.
Regarding the accusations that the SNS is in campaign mode, Jovanov said there are some (anti-government forces) bragging about the number of stickers, actions carried out, and asked the opposition, "how come that campaign doesn't bother you".
"These are the ones you supported until yesterday," remarked Milenko Jovanov.
