President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic says that talks with the Hungarian MOL company about the acquisition of a majority stake in Petroleum Industry of Serbia, NIS, will continue today, and added that if agreement is reached regarding the Pancevo refinery, he will try to conclude the negotiations, adding that the relevant ministry and the Government will make the final decision.

During a tour of the EXPO 2027 construction site in Belgrade, Vucic spoke with journalists about Bogoljub Karic also being mentioned regarding NIS, and that he is "happy that there are many interested parties".

"It's good to know that these people have 2 billion, at least so they won't whine to us that they have financial problems and trouble with money. It's good, at least we now see that two of them have 2 billion euros and I'm very happy about that," said the president.

He added that he is "sure that these people will invest big money in Serbia in the future, even if MOL gets NIS instead of them".

"It's good news that people have so much money. I never would have imagined," said Vucic.

Some media reported earlier today that businessman Bogoljub Karic has sent an official initiative to NIS, the president of Serbia, and the president of the Russian Federation, regarding the ongoing discussions about the future ownership structure of NIS.
