Vucic announces meetings with world leaders in Baku: Focus on investments and modernization of Serbia
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has arrived at the Congress Center in Baku, where the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) will begin today, and was welcomed by the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and Executive Director of UN-Habitat Anaclaudia Rossbach.
"I am proud to represent Serbia at the World Urban Forum, one of the most important global gatherings dedicated to the future of cities, sustainable development and improving the quality of life of citizens. It is of great importance for us to be a part of the conversation about modern solutions in the field of infrastructure, energy, traffic and smart urban development, because only through serious planning and responsible politics can we continue to build a modern and successful country. During the forum, I will have numerous meetings with world officials, representatives of international organizations and companies, with the aim of securing new investments, partnerships and additional opportunities for progress and an even better future for Serbia," the president wrote on Instagram.
After the opening ceremony, Vucic will hear the speeches of the host, top UN officials, representatives of prominent global companies, as well as the world's leading civil society actors in the field of sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Vucic is expected to have a series of meetings and talks with numerous officials.
This year's gathering brings together more than 41,000 participants from 180 countries, including heads of state and government, ministers, mayors, business leaders, representatives of academia and civil society.
President Vucic arrived in Baku yesterday, where he met with President Aliyev, and then with representatives of some of the largest Azerbaijani companies.
