President Vucic speaks with Saqr Ghobash: UAE is one of the most important partners of Serbia

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met on Tuesday with President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates Saqr Ghobash and pointed out that joint projects in previous years have given a strong impetus to the partnership between the two countries and that the Emirates is one of the most important partners of Serbia in the Gulf region.

"A cordial and substantive conversation with the president of the Federal National Council of the UAE about overall bilateral relations, further strengthening of political dialogue, economic cooperation, investments, trade and joint projects that in previous years gave a strong impetus to our partnership," Vucic stated in a post on Instagram.

He also pointed out that relations between the two countries are the best proof to what degree mutual trust, stability and long-term vision can bring concrete results.

Vucic added that he reiterated his immense gratitude to the sincere and proven friend of our country, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, for his great support and personal involvement in deepening the close and friendly ties between Serbia and the UAE.

"As one of today's greatest global leaders, he demonstrated in all difficult moments what it means to be a friend and a reliable partner on whom we could always rely," the president added.

Vucic said that during Tuesday's conversation they paid special attention to the current global and regional political situation, especially the circumstances in the Middle East, as well as the importance of preserving peace, stability, dialogue and a responsible approach in times of great challenges.

"I pointed out that Serbia extremely values ​​the role of the UAE as an important and influential actor, dedicated to stability, development and connections. We also discussed improvement of parliamentary cooperation, as an important part of the overall relations between our countries," Vucic pointed out.

The president of Serbia added that he believes that through continuing the close political dialogue and cooperation at all levels, the friendship between Serbia and the UAE will be further strengthened and space will be opened for new joint initiatives in the interest of our citizens.

Ghobash is on an official multi-day visit to Serbia, during which he will meet with other state officials, and today he will address a special session of the Serbian National Assembly.
