Nikola Jokic is the new captain of the Serbian national basketball team!

The Serbian national basketball team gathered again for the July World Cup qualification window, and head coach Dusan Alimpijevic revealed who will be the new captain. He made the decision that was probably expected by everyone - Nikola Jokic will be Serbia's captain in the coming period.

"It came about very simply, there was no question from the beginning, since the first day the communication has been going in that direction, the guy did not cause any problems, nor was there any question," Alimpijevic said, and added:

"A simple story. From the start of my role as the head coach, it was said that whenever he (Jokic) could, because of his obligations toward his club, he would be with the national team. He is fulfilled to be with the national team, the Serbian national team makes him happy, past head coaches have confirmed that, you can see how happy he is now and there is no doubt that he should be the captain of the Serbian national team."
