President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today in Belgrade with Mexican Ambassador Carlos Felix Corona, with whom he discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, current geopolitical situations and opportunities for further improvement of cooperation.

"The fact that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Mexico is a special pleasure, a significant anniversary that testifies to the long friendship, mutual respect and partnership that we want to continue to develop," Vucic stated in a post on Instagram.

He added that he thanked Mexico for its principled stance and consistent support for international law, as well as for not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

"We extremely value such a relationship and I believe that we will continue to develop political, economic, cultural and any other cooperation of mutual interest," stated President Vucic.

Vucic also hopes that "there will soon be an opportunity to exchange high-level visits, which will further improve relations between the two countries".
