Young woman from Serbia died in this van: Tragedy happened on way back from Ostrog?
A 21-year-old woman from Serbia was killed and 16 others injured on Sunday in a traffic accident that happened yesterday on the Kotor-Niksic road in Montenegro.
All the passengers in the van were Serbian citizens. The vehicle suffered complete damange in the crash, and according to the authorities, the young person died despite an attempt at resuscitation.
This was announced yesterday evening by the director of the Special Hospital for Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Neurology in Risan, Dino Panjako.
"A total of 17 patients were admitted, of which 14 were kept for treatment in our institution. Three patients were in serious condition, one of whom died after resuscitation attempts due to severe bodily injuries to internal organs," Panjako told the daily Pobjeda.
The doctor added that of the 14 patients who were kept in the hospital, five are in intensive care, and others are also being treated for serious injuries.
The director of the hospital said that they were citizens of Serbia who were vacationing in Boka Kotorska, and who, as far as he was aware, were on a day trip to the Ostrog Monastery. The accident happened on the way back, writes Pobjeda.
A child, who was admitted right after the accident, was resuscitated and is now in a clinic in Podgorica where the treatment continues, Panjako said, adding that several children were injured, the others with minor wounds.
The doctor also stated that at this point, none of the patients are in a life-threatening condition.
