President Vucic offers his condolences to the Government and people of Japan in wake of earthquake

President Aleksandar Vucic today offered his condolences to the families of the victims of an earthquake that hit Japan, as well as to that country's government, and stated that Serbia has offered help and is ready to provide support to the friendly country.

"It was with great concern that I received the news about the strong earthquake that hit the Japanese island of Kyushu. On behalf of the citizens of Serbia and on my own behalf, I send my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi and the people of Japan, with the hope that all those who are missing will be found and rescued. I wish the injured a speedy recovery," Vucic wrote in a post on X.

Vucic added that Serbia has offered help and is ready to provide all necessary support to friendly Japan.

"In these difficult moments, our thoughts are with the Japanese people," the president of Serbia stated.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said today that 13 people have been confirmed dead after the 7.1 magnitude earthquake, and that the search for the missing persons continues.
