President warns that situation with electricity and diesel in Serbia is becoming increasingly serious!

President Aleksandar Vucic said today that Serbia is not currently in danger of power outages, but that the situation is difficult and that it is hard to predict what will happen over the next ten days.

"There is no danger in Serbia at the moment, primarily not regarding the loss of electricity, but you cannot know for sure what will happen in ten days, because the situation is extremely difficult," Vucic told RTS.

He explained that the situation is quite complex due to the fact that Serbia is part of the single European electricity trade system, so what happens in Romania and Hungary directly affects Serbia.

Vucic stressed that the supply of oil derivatives, especially diesel, is a big problem, but that he is sure that Serbia will endure despite the difficulties.

"Quotations are rising, there is no oil, especially not diesel, and we are now going for more operating reserves. We didn't approve Petroleum Industry of Serbia, which for the sake of cash requested the export of several million tons of diesel to the region. We are saving everything for ourselves and for our citizens, and I am quite sure that, despite all the difficulties, which are both financial and related to natural disasters and countless other problems on the global market, that we will withstand it," said the Serbian president.
