Because of injuries sustained in last night's fire in Omis in Croatia, a total of 36 people were given medical assistance at KBC Split. After receiving medical treatment, 14 patients were hospitalized, while the rest were discharged to home care, the hospital said.

Seven patients are in the intensive care unit and their lives are in danger. Three more patients are in the intensive care unit, while the rest are hospitalized in regular wards, Index.hr has reported.

Most of the patients have burns, while the others sought medical help due to respiratory problems caused by exposure to smoke.

KBC Split immediately engaged all available teams in order to ensure timely treatment of the injured. Due to the increased influx of patients, employees who were on vacation were called to come back to work.
