World exclusive: Telegraf team goes inside migrants' tent on a beach in Ceuta!

Since the end of July, the eyes of the whole world have been on Ceuta, an autonomous Spanish region in the very north of Africa. About 80,000 migrants crossed the border between Morocco and Spain, by sea and land, and the events that followed became a top global topic. A Telegraf.rs portal team is the first from this part of Europe, and one of the first in the world, to go to the very center of the drama.

We slept in a part of town where you can only hear Arabic spoken. We went to the "beach of horrors", where thousands of illegal migrants now live in wicker shacks. We spoke with the locals, we heard their anxieties and fears.

We bring the story of fear, hunger and a cruel struggle for survival from the scene. Morocco effectively entered Spain - refugees flooded the territory of Ceuta and completely changed the daily life in this once peaceful Spanish town.

Ceuta. What was until two weeks ago a tourist pearl with beautiful sandy beaches and an exotic mix of Arab and European architecture, full of wonderful and hospitable people whose character was forged by centuries of coexistence, tolerance and good will, is today the last, critical line of defense of Europe.

Police and army are on the streets around the clock, politicians are fighting to earn their points, locals are hoping that their once beautiful life is not gone forever, Europe is assessing the situation and issuing apocalyptic warnings. And illegal migrants...

We saw everything with our own eyes, and recorded it with a camera. Some scenes were difficult, some made our stomachs turn. But we promised ourselves - we will show everything, the way we recorded it, without censorship.

The locals almost do not dare go to out anymore. City life has practically stopped, stores are empty, and residents point out that it has become difficult to buy even the most basic foodstuffs, such as bread. On the other hand, illegal immigrants live in constant fear of mass deportation. On the coast itself, they have built makeshift settlements made of reed, cardboard and plastic, where they boil seawater using improvised fires in order to produce drinking water.

The Telegraf.rs portal's team went through all the security requirements and recorded a harsh picture of the reality of life in a no-man's land between Europe and Africa.

During the encounters with illegal migrants, we received an offer that could not be refused. To take a look inside a wicker tent where they spend their nights. It left us speechless.
