Vucevic: Textbook "erasing Serbs" is another disgraceful move by Montenegro authorities

Milos Vucevic, leader of Serbia's ruling SNS and presidential adviser on regiona issues, said today that the "disgraceful" edition of the "Social Studies" elementary school textbook published in Montenegro is yet another move made by the authorities there, who he said are implementing anti-Serb ideology and anti-Serb hysteria.

"Parents are reacting to the disgraceful edition of the 'Social Studies' textbook for elementary school students in Montenegro, in which Serbs are completely erased in the part dedicated to the nation and the state - they are not mentioned as a constituent people, nor as a national minority. What are they (Montenegro authorities) trying to do now - to teach Serbs that they are not Serbs? Now they have gone after the children," Vucevic wrote in a post on Instagram.

According to him, Montenegro is trying to construct a lie around the truth that 33 percent of Montenegro's population are Serbs, and that they guard their language, script, and dignity.

"They are afraid of the Serbian language, which is spoken by half of Montenegro. Textbooks 'without Serbs' are only a part of their dangerous agenda, which aims to spread hatred towards anything Serb and cancel everything related to Serbs," Vucevic stressed.

He added that the Serb people in Montenegro know that the state of Serbia is with them, and that they will always fight to preserve their cultural and spiritual identity.

"And as for the Montenegrin regime, they show with their (mis)deeds that they are competing to attack everything that is Serb, instead of dealing with their own issues and internal affairs, they are constantly attacking on Serbia. But they aren't able to use any anti-Serb campaign or agenda against the strength of our people in Montenegro, who are proud of their Serb kinfolk," stated Vucevic.
