President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that the concession for the Pavlovica Bridge over the Drina River, which connects the regions of Semberija with Macva, will expire on September 1, and announced that the border crossing between Serbia and the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina) will be free for all citizens.

"I have good news for everyone in Sabac, Loznica and elsewhere, in Macva and southern Srem - on September 1, the concession for the Pavlovica Bridge will be over, from then on it will become our property, and from then on you will not pay for any tolls for crossing. It's a free crossing between Serbia and the RS, for all citizens," Vucic said during a tour of the works on the Slepcevic-Badovinci expressway near Bogatic.

The president pointed out that our country will not charge for the use of that crossing.

"Everyone will be able to use it. That's great news," Vucic said.

For 30 years, the concessionaire, the Drina River Bridge company, had the right to collect tolls, while the legal obligation was to maintain and monitor the safety of the bridge. After the concession expires, full ownership and right of management will pass directly to the state of Serbia.
