PM Macut and Ambassador Fazli discuss development of relations between Serbia and Iran
Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Djuro Macut spoke today with the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade, Mohammad Sadek Fazli, about the further development of relations between the two countries.
The Government of Serbia said in a statement that Macut thanked Iran for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as for participating in EXPO 2027, which will gather the world in Belgrade next year.
Macut highlighted the decades-long cooperation between Serbia and Iran, since next year marks the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which he said are characterized by friendship and mutual understanding and appreciation.
Macut expressed particular satisfaction regarding the great interest of Iranian students in studying at universities in Serbia, thanks to the "World in Serbia" project.
Ambassador Fazli assessed that traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Iran represent a good basis for further improvement of cooperation.
